Two new freight wagons finished over the weekend - a Fish Van and a Box Van from Plateway Models kits.

K1 Garratt Project (15) - primed ready for paint job..

 A warm'ish morning today, so I setup my spray booth in the garage. I used some sea grey acrylic spray paint - the loco was given a nice coat as a primer ..

Now it is starting to look the part; current plan is to paint it maroon on the boiler, cab & end tanks; black for the rest, I may leave the wheels in red or touch in with maroon as well.

K1 Garratt Project (14) - Getting the paint shop ready ...

To give the loco a good base coat I wanted to prime it with some acrylic spray paint. So I improvised a basic spray paint 'booth'; a rummage in the garage yielded a couple of bits of shelving and a couple of large green chopping boards. All screwed together, rather basic but will do the job.

hopefully some warmer weather approaching this coming weekend, I'll set myself up in garage and get spraying....

this time a rectangular tank wagon ....( a resin casting on an old Playmobil coach chassis)..

 I've refurbished a wagon I bought last year...

and started construction of two Plateway Models van kits ...

I acquired some cheap wagon kits off Ebay recently.  Today I used parts of two of them to make bodies for two spare wagon chassis I had.

Letting the glue set for a while before I get on with painting them.

 Hoorah, some sunny dry weather today; although a warm coat was needed - a chance to run a train ...

Loco name plates and numbers

 Arrived in the post today a job lot of g scale loco number and name plates purchased off Ebay..

enough for four locos to have a name and number; plus one set of numbers for another loco. Now to choose which loco gets which name etc ....

First running session of the year ...

 Finally dry enough to get the leaves up with my Flymo garden vac..  Gardening job done so time to run a train while it was still sunny ...
