Track powered locos are Go ...

 Over the last few days have been cleaning the track on the garden layout, I had not used it for track-powered locos since 2 years ago. To start with I used some cleaning fluid, which I sprayed on and let the rain wash it off - this got the worst of the tarnishing and dirt on the track; this was followed by a session with a track rubber.

Today got out my track cleaning loco to buff up the track top

a few 'sticky' areas were cleaned with the track rubber. Once all done, found a couple of areas of track that needed a bit of levelling and so ready to run a train ...

I chose my new little feldbahn loco and a rake of tipper trucks, spent a happy time watching it go round...

Beamish town gets a new fire engine ....

Bought a nice fire engine from a charity shop to replace a rather old and tatty one that was part of the line side scenes on the garage layout ...

Match truck painted ...

 I had a spare Hartlands Loco Works wagon which I put by for a modelling project. I decided to use it to make a match truck for my crane...

constructed out of cardboard of varying thickness, a nice addition to the permanent way train, will paint it up in due course; also thinking of adding a mess coach.

Visit to my friends garden railway

Took my tram engine and a short train round to my friends for a garden railway open day a couple of days ago ... doh ! forgot my camera....

Sorting out my 'tipper wagons'...

I had three Hartland Loco Works Ore wagons, one of which need fixing up; recently I managed to buy four more off Ebay (one of which was missing the supports for the hopper).

I made up 5 wagons out of the best ones and parts.... then painted up to match...

Bridge replacement - finished ...

 Last bit of painting done today, stonework and base of bridge to match the plastic truss ironwork...
