The build continues.... more exact measuring required, holes to be drilled and metal rod to be bent...
Under frame bits added with some wire to provide bracing....
The ends done, bracing and part of the tarpaulin cover support mechanismThe main tricky bit was bending the metal rod for the tarpaulin cover support, the hoops to support it were then added..
The door detail, hinges and bracing, I was short of some bracing bar strip (there were a couple of bits missing from the kit ), so I made up some from plasticard.....
Door handles added, these were made from brass rod ( took about 7 attempts to bend 2 suitable handles)
Carefully marked up the position of the diagonal side braces....cut strips provided to size and added.them ..
Onto the couplings ....a extension made for the bogey 'crafted' out of plasticard ...
All done, quite satisfying to complete the build of the kit...
A quick test that I've got the couplings with sufficient clearance around the curve was satisfactory...Now its off to the paint shop.... plus I'll need to get some transfers for the lettering etc.
